Elements of Muskoka was officially founded in 2015, but our roots in building go back much further. For years, we built our own homes and helped friends and neighbours bring their projects to life. When it came time for a career change, we decided to turn our experience, skills, and passion for quality workmanship into a business of our own. 

We started Elements of Muskoka because we saw a clear need in the community. Many property owners were struggling to find trustworthy, reasonably priced contractors willing to take on smaller or mid-sized projects. We built our business on responsiveness, honesty, and clear communication: returning calls, providing reliable estimates, and ensuring there are no unexpected surprises at the end of a job. 

Over the years, our business has evolved. While we began by taking on a wide variety of renovations, we’ve refined our focus to specialize in outdoor stairs, decks, bunkies, and other exterior structures where our craftsmanship truly shines. We’ve also expanded into driveway grading and resurfacing, a service many clients requested and one that complements our expertise. 

Our Muskoka Connection 

Muskoka is home for us. Jen is a lifelong resident, and Dwayne grew up summering in Torrance and has lived in the area for more than 35 years. Living and working in a true four-season environment gives us firsthand understanding of the region’s unique terrain, shoreline conditions, and demanding winters. We know what materials and building techniques stand up to Muskoka’s climate, and we approach every project with longevity in mind. 

What we’re most proud of isn’t just the durability of our work, it’s the relationships we’ve built along the way. Many of our clients return to us again and again, and their referrals are the greatest compliment we can receive. 

As we look ahead, our goal remains simple: to continue serving our neighbours with quality craftsmanship, honest communication, and dependable service, building projects, and trust, that last for years to come.
